I believe in the Messiah, the Christ, the Anointed One of God. I believe I am saved through my belief in Him, the only begotten Son of God.
I believed I am saved by grace/favor of and not by works of Torah. I am not declared right by works of Torah. I am born again, from above through belief in Messiah plus nothing else. I am the righteousness of Elohim in Messiah.
I am not of the Hebrew Roots persuasion.
I observe the Feasts of Yahweh, as outlined in Leviticus Chapter Twenty-Three, but not for salvation, and not according to the way they were commanded to Israel who looked forward to Messiah’s coming, such as sacrificing a lamb on Passover. I study them and remember them because I see Messiah in them, as all of Scripture speaks of Him. Messiah’s fulfillment is paramount and the point of the Feasts/Moedim, and the point reached in all of Torah.
I don’t observe the Feasts according to rabbinic Judaism’s traditions, and I don’t look to the rabbis of Judaism, or the Talmud for how I walk my walk of belief/faith in Messiah. They rejected Messiah when He came and fulfilled Torah, and did miracles before their very eyes. Their traditions and legalistic observance of the Torah of Moses led them to reject Messiah, instead of leading them to Him, the point of all of it.
I rest on the Seventh Day Sabbath. I believe The Master of the Sabbath is Messiah, and it isn’t left to men to erect fences to administer and enforce Sabbath rest. I do not condemn those who don’t observe the Seventh Day Sabbath. I believe those who are born again from above, with the indwelling Spirit, are His taught-ones. He will lead them as He does me, as we yield to Him.
I eat according to what Scripture says is food, in Leviticus Chapter Eleven. I’m not condemning anyone else who eats meats that is said to not food. That is between each of us and The Master.
I believe works follow salvation and that those works are a result of hearing the Voice of The Spirit leading me into all Truth, and causing me to walk in the Torah of Messiah – the fruit of the Spirit, according to Galatians Chapter Five.
I believe His name is important. Psalm Sixty-Eight says His name is Yah. We read “The Lord,” and know that it is derived from the Hebrew YHWH. Most say it as Yahweh. But some say Yahuah, Yehovah, or some other variation of pronunciation for His name. Whatever understanding you or I have, of His name today, we will one day be know for sure as it is revealed to us by Him in His timing. for Spirit filled/led believers it won’t be a point of contention as that will be at the completion of the unity of the Spirit. Perhaps that is the day we each are called home. But right now, I don’t know that anyone has a lock on how to pronounce His name, as the original Hebrew had no vowel points – they were added by the Masorites – and so we don’t know how to say it accurately.
As for the question of the name Jesus Christ, or Yeshua Messiah, or another pronunciation or variation – The Messiah or Christ means “Anointed One.” He is the Anointed One of God/Elohim. When I was saved on November 23rd, 1987, I called on Him by the name of Jesus. In recent years I went from Yeshua, to Yahshua, to Yahusha and then to Yehoshua. If you look in the Strong’s Greek dictionary, attached to the King James Version of the Scriptures, and look up the name Jesus, you will find it referencing Yehoshua from the Hebrew. History teaches us that the letter J only came into existence some six-hundred years ago, so that leave the name Jesus kind of suspect. But I know that when I called on Jesus He saved me. I am not into dogma surrounding His name, and I’m not interested in arguing it one way or another.
I’m not interested quarreling about Torah or any other subject. It is fruitless because it is a work of the flesh as opposed to a work of the Spirit of Elohim, who will bring unity to us as we each yield to His work.
The message I believe I am to proclaim is the same one that Messiah and the other writers of the letters and books of the Scriptures, the “reign of Elohim,” or “kingdom of God,” in Messiah/Christ Jesus/Yeshua. To Him is the judgement and the administration of His Instruction to His disciples/taught-ones. May we yield to Him and His perfect work in and through us and so be proven to be God’s “workmanship, created in Messiah/Christ Jesus/Yahshua unto good works, which God/Elohim prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Peace and Shalom,
