4th Day of the week

Posted on September 19, 2018September 19, 2018 by truthseeker

Today is the 4th Day of the week. In my previous posts, about the days of the week, the evidence that our Creator Elohim, Yah, did not give names to the days of the week, other than calling the 7th Day Sabbath. But the enemy who seeks to confuse, hide, and lie about what our Creator said, inspired men to name the days of the week (most months as well) after pagan mighty ones, who are not mighty ones at all. There is only one true Mighty One, and He is YHWH Elohim.

The 4th Day of the week was named “Wednesday.”

“Wednesday means “Woden’s Day” (in Norse, ‘Odin’), the Old Norse’s equivalent to Mercury, who was the messenger to the gods and the Roman god of commerce, travel and science. He was considered the chief god and leader of the wild hunt in Anglo-Saxon mythology, but the name directly translated means “violently insane headship” – not exactly the name of a loving and kind god!  Woden was the ruler of Asgard, the hoe of the gods, and is able to shift and change into different forms.” –Ancient Origins

Remember, as noted in a previous article, that Our Creator, Yah, said we are not to even name the names of these foreign mighty ones, and, in our referenced portion of Scripture, was contextually in reference to the days of the week, and the Sabbath Command.

Exo 23:12 “Six days you are to do your work, and on the seventh day you rest, in order that your ox and your donkey might rest, and the son of your female servant and the sojourner be refreshed.
Exo 23:13 “And in all that I have said to you take heed. And make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth.”

Many people, of whom I’ve discussed this, say that Yah (they call Him God) really doesn’t care what they call the days of the week. They say, “To me the names don’t mean anything about paganism.” They say, “He knows my heart.” Yes He does! He knows our heart more than we know our heart. So does He say that it is just fine for us to proclaim these pagan names for days of the week? Well, from the above referenced Command of our Creator, Yah, He most certainly does not say that He doesn’t mind!

Do you know your heart? Here’s a good heart check for you, and me. Remember that Messiah Yahusha (called Jesus by traditionalism – not His Name) said “If you love Me keep My Commandments.” Remember that Exodus 20, in the Decalogue/Ten Word (10 Commandments) says that His mercy is reserved for those who love Him and guard/keep His Commandments. So, here’s the heart check. Do you love Him? Or do you love your tradition, or position, or whatever, more than you love Him? What matters most to you, what your practices that are in opposition to His Commandments mean to you, what your practices that oppose His Commandments mean to Him?

Today is the 4th Day, when this is posted. It’s September 19th, 2018 and Yom Turuah, or the Day of Trumpets, in reality the Day of Proclaiming. Proclaiming His Truth, exposing the lies, warning of impending judgement, and proclaiming the Good News (called the gospel) of Messiah Yahusha.

The Good News is that we are all born in sin, in need of a Savior. Yah is the only Savior. He sent His only Son, Yahusha, who proclaimed His Father’s Word, exposed the lies of lawless tradition, was betrayed and murdered by lawless men of Rome at the insistence of the established religion of Judaism. But He rose from the dead because sin had no hold on Him. If we believe in Him we righteous in Him, have received a new heart of flesh with the Torah written on our heart, placed in our mind, and the power of the Set Apart Spirit to walk obediently to the Commands – by grace through faith/belief.

Will you hear Him? Or will you just go about your day in total disregard for His loving Instruction?
