It is the first day of the week, called “Sunday.” Last night, at midnight, most around the world shot off fireworks, fired guns in the air, sang Auld Lang Syne, and lifted their glasses to a new year. But is it the new year? By whose reckoning of time deems that the old year has passed and the new has begun? Is there a reason to question it, or should we all just toss the confetti, make the resolution (that most of us won’t keep), watch some football, eat a lot of food, and move on? For professing believers in Messiah Yahshua, should this observance of time be something we are to be involved in? Does it line up with the Torah, the Word of Yahweh Elohim, or does He have a different reckoning of time? And if He does, then who inspired the change?
Satan inspired the changes. He has infiltrated the professing assembly of Yahweh and sown seeds of lawlessness with his lies. As with all the satanically inspired deviations from the Scriptural Instruction – the Torah of Yahweh – the perversion of what Yahweh put in place, from the beginning, is meant to keep people from seeing the Messiah and His work, in and through us, by observing and guarding the Moedim. Moedim is a Hebrew word, in The Scriptures, that means “Appointed Times.”
Yahweh Elohim made a weekly appointment, as well as annual appointments for His people to keep. They are for His people today, as well – you and me, if we profess to be His own, bought with the price of Yahshua’s blood. But the enemy of Yahweh and His children wants to distract, confuse, and cause us to not see, and not hear what our Creator and Father is saying to us. Why? Because he wants to destroy us. He knows that he is condemned for his lawlessness, so he wants to take as many of us with him as he can. In that his hatred for his Creator is manifested; to destroy the creation that Yah made for His own. He is trying to complete the wicked work he began in the garden, in causing confusion in what Yahweh said and requires. Satan wants us to miss the plan of redemption laid out in the Moedim.
To do this Satan has changed times set forth in the Torah. What the world is celebrating today, is not the beginning of the year, according to Yahweh, our Creator. How do we know this? Scripture tells us. Below I’ve pasted the text from Exodus 12, at the time of the giving of the Passover, when it was to be observed for deliverance from Mistrayim/Egypt. It was the spring, the time of the barley harvest – the month of Abib.
Here is the reset of time, given by Yahweh, in Exodus 12:
Exo 12:1 And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon in the land of Mitsrayim, saying,
Exo 12:2 “This new moon is the beginning of new moons for you, it is the first new moon of the year for you. – The Scriptures 2009 – ISR
Exo 12:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
Exo 12:2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. – KJV
There are twelve months in the year. So when is the twelfth month? For this to be the first day of the new year December would have had to be the twelfth month. But according to Yahweh, what we call February would be the twelfth month. The Scriptural Truth is that Yah never gave names to the months. They were simply numbered, 1 -12. Man gave them pagan names. Israel gave them pagan names as well, even though Torah said not to even mention the names of pagan deities. The question, as always, is, who do you believe – created man, or the Creator of man. The question demands an answer!
December is the tenth month of the year. It’s name bears witness to that Truth. In Latin “decem” mean ten. Why would the twelfth month be named “December?” Because it isn’t the twelfth month of the year. It is the tenth month of the year. There are two more months left, before the new year begins. This fits exactly what Yahweh instructed His people in Exodus 12, that, at the time of the Passover, 14 days before the Passover, was the beginning of the 1st month of the new year.
Exo 12:6 “And you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same new moon. Then all the assembly of the congregation of Yisra’ĕl shall slay it between the evenings.” – The Scriptures 2009 – ISR
At the beginning of the new Yah commanded the selection of the Passover/Pesah lamb, and it was to be kept 14 days before it was slaughtered at Passover. He is specific in giving us instruction on His time, because it is in His time that He moves. If we want to be there when He moves then we need to keep the appointments that He made, and told us to keep. We ignore them at our own peril.
We have replaced the Moedim of Yahweh with pagan festivals that speak of pagan gods, and keep us from the Truth of who our Creator is, and what He has said and done, and will do, as we are on an unstoppable ride to the conclusion of this earthly existence. With the replacement of Passover, The Feast of Unleavened Bread, and The Feast of Firstfruits, with the pagan Easter, named for, and with the practices of Eostre, or Ashtarte, a pagan fertility goddess, we’ve lost track of the Passover/Pesah Lamb of Yahweh, being Yahshua Messiah. This colored eggs of the Christian celebration of Easter have their origin in pagan priests dying eggs in the blood of babies who were sacrifices to their pagan deity. The replacement of his birth in the fall of the year, during the time of the Feast of Sukkot/Tabernacles has been replaced by the false, pagan celebration of the birth of Mithra, the sun deity. All we are learning, in putting decorated evergreen trees in our home, burning Yule Logs, and ALL the other practices of Christmas is related to an idol – a false pagan god! It is the same with most, if not all practices in traditional Christianity!
The beginning of the year is off by two months, from what Yah commanded. The weekly Sabbath is a day late, from what Yah commanded. Satan has inspired men to ignore and change the True Names of our Creator and His Son. We worship things and an ideal of Elohim that is no Elohim at all. And the band plays on!
No, this is not the first day of the new year. Keep your powder dry. It will be here in a couple of months. Today, called “Sunday,” in honor of the sun god, is not Sabbath. It was yesterday, the seventh day of the week. This is the first day of the week. I hope this might instill in you an urgency to know the Truth, according to The Scripture, and not according to man, so that you don’t miss the commanded, vital appointments made for us by our Creator.
